the NRMA OPEN ROAD mag gives the i30CW with crdi faviourible write up, front cover had world champ V giant killer.
so good for Hyundai, not a truely fare comparition but was not a race or an economy shoot out, it was more to do with what people can use and live with, the CW has more room so that helped .they also had two women doing the testing too and both had not driven a Diesel before but could not mind the noise from the cold CRDi. Dazz will need a copy of this :)

Hey Blue thanks mate,
i got a laugh at the end of that write up, the writer say's @ the Golf is the world champ, BUT in this comparition spent too much time in the ropes@ LOL love that, but i know the Golf is a great little car just this one they used was the new 2L TDI with $2,500 DSG opption and $3,000 Leather seats Oppsion so i'd expect that add's up to $50,000+ car the Golf was lighter too and more power but could only do standing quarter mile in high 17 seconds. i'm sure i could do that in my stock i30 CRDi manuel as i have a lot of experience, i could probably knock half a second to 1 second off the time an average Journalist would do it in same car. but i won't unless Hyundai asked me too then i would.
cheers

hey Dazz i like your signature much better now, cheers ( is it Cascade or Boggs?

Aw I liked the dancing van or whatever that was. (probably has some uber cool meaning that totally went over my head but I thought it was cute)

Add the (much) higher customer satisfaction of Hyundai customers (i30 customers in particular) and I don't know why anyone would buy the dak-dak.

Haha I got into a debate yesterday again with another Golf owner. Otherwise he's a cop, he's also quite ok and was not "aggressive" in "defending" the Golfs advantages.. He's just buying a new car and was sitting in mine and checking it out. He really liked the materials, the look, the seats - he even thought that I have some sports package, because of the seats that are in i30, etc.. In the end he finished: "Don't get me wrong, it really is a nice car, it doesn't cost as much as Golf, but you know how it is..I've always had VW's.."

I just smiled and said "yeah I know". But it was interesting how he really loved the car, but just had the wrong "badge" on it.. If it had VW, he would buy it right away  8) One more prof Hyundai did a great yob

Well Accim, i have owned one VW bought it new, it had some good points and some bad points. but i never got another one.
but i did look at Golf and i test drove a TDI but did not excite me for some reason, the price was more than i thought the product was worth.
but thats just me, i felt more confident in trusting Hyundai and that great little Korean has not let me down yet, all my friends that were hoping to knock it have given up :)
cheers
PS Dazz the NRMA said two women and two men did the testing, said the women had never driven diesels or owned one before but did not mind the experience useing them for a few days.
