hi all,

my first post.
i'm considering an i30 - wondering how spacious the boot is in the hatch vs the cw.
no time to go to a dealer at the moment, and was wondering if some of you might indulge me with photos showing space in the back?
i've noticed some of you like posting photos of your pride and joy. :)

thanks!

otherwise I'm thinking probably diesel, probably SX manual with the full set of airbags, probably grey or silver, with a nice set of 17" alloys and tint.

Hello  :D

I like posting pics. I'll try to take one later today (now it's just past 6:30 in the morning). I have a CW.

There is not that big difference in boot I think. CW is just more practical because it has flat bottom and you can put in/out things easier - and that's the main thing I decided to go for CW. Otherwise if you look at the capacity measured in liters, you can see that hatch has 315 l vs CW's 415 l. And when you put your seats down it's 1,250 l vs 1,395.

Here are the two pics I've posted once. Not good ones, but as I said, I'll take some later   I have that rubber in my trunk because sometimes I have to put some not-so-clean things in it..

Nop, it looks like this. I found these pics in this thread https://i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,2950.0.html

Some have it like this (eye30's car?):

Others like this (Hemmis car):

 Welcome to the club guiness,

You're a good Fella accim  nice photos...

In the hatch the rear seat squab (the bottom part) is split 60/40 and can be lifted forward so you can fold all or part of the back seat forward and have a flat floor...

It appears they have done away with this option in the wagon? Can you confirm this please M8? (is squab of back seat now one piece and fixed....)

Cheers,

Dazz

As far as I can see it, the squab of the back seat is in one piece. I went to check if there are any hooks below the seat (like written in owners manual - for hatch) and couldn't find any.. Interesting.. When you put something heavy on the seats, they do go down a bit, but would be much better if the seats were like in the hatch..   Hmm I'll check it once more later

I thought so.. thanks for checking.. you would think it would be the other way around (more likely the wagon do it)

interesting - i'm planning on having the back seats folded most of the time. it's just me, my wife, and a 40kg labrador. i want room in the back for the dog, or our bikes.

i'll need to have a good hard look at whether the hatch has enough space, or whether i need to spend the money on the wagon.

Well I use my CW with folded seats a lot and I just love how easy it is.. Comparing to our Santa Fe, which can really be sometimes a nightmare..because of that "curtain" :)

CW also has a slightly longer wheelbase and a little more room in the back seat, if that is of any relevance to you.

Haha. First thing one of my sisters did when I showed her the car was to immediately hop into the boot. Not quite sure why, then again she is an engineer..

Great pics.

The 12v socket should come in handy.

Where is it located?

Hello,

The 12V socket in the rear is located here

I've also ordered so called "dog guard" (next picture), but only the upper part - not the whole thing, like in the picture. It cost me 240€ .. The whole thing would probably be around 350-400€. I thought it's a bit cheaper but doesn't matter. Without that, I know my dog would probably kill us both, during the ride  :) He's still young and learning.. Just hope it arrives as soon as possible. I've ordered it on 10th July, they said it will be in approx 10 days. Must call them tomorrow..

I'm also considering of ordering this rear bumper decoration, we have it on the Santa Fe and it's quite useful. Especially because of dogs climbing in/out - with that I might be able to protect my paint  :D
