Hello all,

I saw that there are a lot of topics regarding the cruise control but I think I need some additional help.
What happened so far, I really wanted the car to have cruise control as I intend to travel a lot. I found a second hand car (from certified dealer) with all the features I want and it also had the cruise control. However, I bought the car but I didn't actually try the CC before the purchase.
Now, couple of days later I am still trying to make the cruise control work. I read a lot of topics about it, and so far I have tried to press the brakes so the software can be sure that the car can stop, I fully stopped the car and then hit the road again. Nothing helped. After this, I saw that there is unplugged connector, with a label saying DANCAR on it, I plugged it back in but it also didn't help. The last thing I tried is to make it work on different speeds and gears.
Do you have any further advices or I should just call the dealer and talk with him? The car still has one more year warranty.

I forgot to mention something above. I am not sure if the cruise control installed on the car is not after-market, as I found in the glove box instructions about how to install the cruise control and manual on usage.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks, CraigB :goodjob:

Thunder, there's a lot information about your DanCar system (if that's what you have fitted) on the forum. Put Dancar into the search box ;)

Hej ThunderStruck

 :wttc:

Well, you either have the Hyundai warranty or the 6 month warranty according to Købeloven, so let the dealer handle the issue. If I remmember correct, the Dancar CC is what Hyundai sold as the "original aftermarket CC".

As Shambles say, if you search for Dancar you'll propably find a thread from member MikeSX about the CC.

Small update, I found a green LED indicator on the dash board. When I press the ON/OFF button the indicator starts to work, regardless of the speed I am driving with or even if I am just on ignition, but when I press RES ACCEL or COAST SET nothing happens.

However, thank you for the answers, I found the topics but I don't think I am going to deal with this problem by myself. As I found the green LED indicator on the dash board I am almost sure that the CC is after-market. I am going to talk with the dealer tomorrow and see what he says.

You have to wonder why that connector wasn't plugged in

Yes, my September 2009 CRDi has an after market Dancar c/c, the small led is fitted just in front of the speedometer and only glows slightly when switched on (without c/c engaging). My vehicle went into Limp Home Mode for 2 years before the dealer simply disconnected the c/c ! :fum:
I later found that the Dancar system was incompatible with my model. Subsequently (2 years!) Dancar supplied a modified c/c wiring loom.
The car has run to perfection since  :D

The case is somehow solved.
I disconnected the CC, and then put it back in. Left the car for sometime without using it and then I managed to turn the CC on. It turns out to be the favourite customer service solution, i.e. "did you try turning it off and on again"?  :crazy1:
However, I also talked with the dealer. The cruise control is, in fact, after-market but they installed it, so it is covered by the warranty.

Shambles, I asked him also about this. He said, "sometimes it slips out".  :scared:

Thank you the help, now, I can drive even with my twisted ankle.  :happydance:

If you do have any trouble with your car going into limp home mode (won't rev over 3000 RPM) suspect your  Dancar  Cruise control...

You will most likely notice without checking. From the way it has been described there is an obvious lack of performance similar to having dirty fuel or something.

Everything looks to be fine. Before buying this car I tried some other cars and the performance seems to be the same. Also mine goes with no trouble even above 3000RMP.
Thank you again for the help :)
