I have only had my i30 1.6 diesel 2012 reg scar for a week but have not experienced the automatic stop/start system when I come to traffic lights etc.
I know there is a switch to deactivate the system if you dont like it, but I am not deactivating the system as I want to try it.
So I pull up at traffic lights, put the car into neutral and take foot of the clutch. I am waiting for the engine to stop but it does not. What I do notice though is that the light on the switch to deactivate the system comes on just as I am stopping and goes out as soon as I engage gear and start to move.
Any one else experienced the problem and what is the solution????

Does the dashboard display show "autostop deactivated" when you first start your car?

Could be a battery low condition, which may rectify itself as you do longer runs.

Hi speedwayfan,

There are quite a few threads on here about this feature (and all the criteria which must align for it to work)

They should come up if you use the search function.

The battery charge is perhaps the number one requirement though.
