These are really a cosmetic rather than vision/safety change?

This is correct however the osram night breakers & phillips extreme power do give an appreciable increase in light output and the superlux leds remove the last remnants of yellow light + they save 7watts of energy (granted I think any difference in fuel comsumption would be completely undetectable lol)

Achh yellow, they'll have to go. Probably save some heat in the lamp module too.
