Hi everyone - thought it was about time to explore the Mecca of all i30...hoping to find some tips and save my sanity (love my little turbo but she needs some help)...

2nd owner and feeling compelled to put my own stamp on her without compromising safety and stability (she's a daily but I still want just a tad more than she's currently offering)

Yeah she is - although I've not customized her as I did my Getz (lol) but I've started with just little things like aftermarket head unit, new wheels and tyres all round (still 195 with Shaker rims) - want to tune the turbo a little although don't want to be ripped a new one for inexperience...

Actually scanning through threads to see if anyone else has had issues with EPS alerts....keeps showing intermittently 😒

EPS issues are a 'known' issue - what happens with the steering when EPS lights up? or does it just show up momentarily?

There is actually a recall on, published for specific VIN range, at the moment regarding EPS - see here

Hyundai i30, Elantra recalled for power-steering fix for the govt. link and that topic in general discussing things regards to it. Two more topics of interest (there are probably a number more) -

I30 Steering Woes. and

EPS fails intermittently.

However I am assuming, being 09 model, that the i30 is out of factory warranty.

It's not the brake light switch is it? A recall item that will be fixed for free.
