Hi team

I was looking at buying the Mobius action cam which comes highly recommended for a small dash cam with full HD video.  At $100 AUD it's a steal.

I was wondering, does anyone have a dash cam that is hard wired?  Was it hard to do or did you just get a shop to do it?

I do, I have a blackvue front and rear camera.
Shops sell a thing called magic pro or something like that, it monitors your battery and when the battery voltage drops to a certain level it cuts power to the camera.
As for installing, NFI, I paid them

I'd also watch this too, I was sceptical on the quality so this will show you more likely what it will look like than that video.
It will cover you in a basic accident but not real good with number plates.

Relatively easy.  I ran the lead down the side of the windscreen behind the plastic trim then behind the door seal rubber to the fuse box panel by the driver's knee.  Connect positive to a piggyback fuse holder in an ignition controlled fuse socket.  The earth is connected to the earth terminal in the OBD socket either with a piece of brass strip formed as a pin or with a blank OBD connector from fleabay.
