Hi all.  I have just purchased a petrol SR premium 2015 model in Creamy White.  Colour code is YAC.  When I gave this code to a panel beater to match colour for front parking sensors I installed aftermarket, the painted sensors do not match the rest of the factory painted body panels.  I thought it was the panel beater who stuffed up, so I went to a different panel beater, gave them the same colour code YAC, they repainted the sensors, and the same problem. Looks exactly the same result as the first panel beater job.  The painted sensors do not match the panel colour of the rest of the car.

Has anyone had any issues specifically with getting proper colour match of the Creamy White code YAC?

I went to check the colour of the factory fitted reverse sensors, and lo and behold, even the factory fitted reverse sensors do not match with the rest of the body panel.

It might be the material they are made from... For example, plastic bumpers often appear to be a slightly different shade to the body colour. Any photos?

How much did each charge to paint them? My wife's factory fitted rear sensors on the agua Blue Tourer are black!

Attached are pictures.  The first is of factory fitted rear sensors.  The second is aftermarket fitted front sensors. Can you see how the painted sensor surface has a "yellowish" tinge compared to the white of the body panel?

I think it is something probably only you will notice.. I know it is not ideal, but probably material related.

The wife said she wouldn't be happy but a lot better than black on blue! Do you mind sharing the cost of the spray please.

True, I'm not bother by it.  It is just that in future, if I need a whole panel section replaced and repainted, then if the colour is going to be this different, it would look ridiculous.  And this is the panel beater going off the paint code from Hyundai.

Most places these days have a machine they can scan the paint to get a perfect match which allows for variations such as fading, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Is it just that the sensors dont have the metallic in the paint??
The metallic can interfere with the sensor operation.

My sensors are a perfect match on the metallic silver car - both the original fit rear sensors and the aftermarket front ones.

My aqua blue has black coloured sensors.

I did ask why not same colour as the car and at time told only colour coded on ........... wait for it...................black car! and white!

Re paint colour match.
When my black car was repaired, on return the sprayed area was a different black.

I took it back and they checked the old and new paint with a hand scanner.

The scanner showed 2 different black colour codes.

They mixed a new batch and the respray was spot on as near perfect match.
