Hi,

I removed the plastic engine cover on my FD diesel, it's got a bit of dirt around the injectors, what is the best way to clean this part of the engine.

Don't want to stuff anything up!

I'd just wipe it with a rag moistened with a bit of degreaser.

With all those expensive electronic thingy's in the engine compartment today I just leave it as is. That big cover under the engine/gearbox prevent a lot of dirt to enter.

When I was an apprentice we often cleaned the engine with a hot water jet washer, I would never do that to modern car. I know all connectors are supposed to be waterproof, but anyway.

I degrease engines on a regular basis and never have an issue. Up to you though. You could just blow it out with compressed air or make an adaptor for a vaccum cleaner.
