I didn't test drive the SX when I signed the papers as I was certain that it's the best hatch out there at the moment for its price range, but I'm wondering if there's anyone else who didn't. Share your test drive experience here!

I test drove a petrol SLX and after that I decided to buy the diesel SLX as a result.  :D

I drove an auto SX CRDi hatch first (Sydney), then two manual SLX CRDi hatches, a month apart (one in Perth; one in Newcastle), and a Petrol SX manual hatch on the day I ordered in Newcastle.

I am so impressed with the CRDi Hatch we have, I wanted a CW too... but discovered the SLX CW is AUTO only !!!!!!  Huh ??????
What's that about????

I drove just about every possible combination of i30 over the 12 months before I bought my petrol manual. But that WAS my job...

Come to think of it, I never did test drive the i30 before laying down my deposit (so to speak) over the phone with my auto broker . I'd gone from enquiry to ownership within the space of ten minutes  :P.
Did I hear someone say "impulse buy"? What can I say, I was happy with the price and trade quoted.
I did, late last year though, test drive both the 2.0 litre Tuscon and Elantra automatics. The Elantra distinctly being the peppier of the two. I enjoyed the Elantra to drive, so I just know I'll "love" driving the i30  :D. By next weekend I hope.
Besides, I've read too many positive threads on here to let the contrary worry me too much.

I had no opinion on the i30 until I came upon this site. I then test drove both the petrol and the diesel. One of them was a manual and one was a auto (forgot which one was which now) and finally made up my mind with the diesel.

Saw the i30's when they became available, started seriously looking a year later but wanted a manual to replace a 13 year old Toyota turbo diesel manual (manual i30's are very rare in NZ). Bought used manual Elite (top model) 700km away without having seen it or driving any i30 at all! The first drive (drove it home) was interesting (in a good way),

I test drove two Diesel SX's and had an SX Petrol (auto) as a loan car when the wife's Tucson was getting serviced.  The petrol actually went OK - as it 'got around a bit' was probably quite loose :D
