  Love it! TAZ,VIC,SA,NSW.maybe WA? all put the clocks forward 1 hour.QLD have too much sun so this could cause problem's  so no need to use it in that state , Northern Territory never used it eather.

Well it's good there is choice, just it suits my lifestyle while i'm working. so i'll take it.

here we have not always had it but after trying it we loved it but some of the large states like Queensland and West Australia, don't like it, mostly you find the city people love it country people don't.

that was two poor excuses I've heard for not having daylight savings.

as a queenslander i have to agree! two dreadful excuses
a) the cows know perfectly well what time it is i.e milking time
b) there's exactly the same amount of sunlight in a day no matter what you set your clock to

i do worry about us at times

ironically i lived in central qld also way back when the daylight savings trial was on here. it was a horrendous experience. getting up in the dark to get somewhere for morning. having dinner while the sun was still up, and hot. the 8.30pm movie would start and the sun would just be setting. it was very difficult e.g family wise when a lot of things were based around "evening" being when you have dinner then think about getting everyone to bed but the sun just won't go away!. really played havoc on personal body clock i found personally and i know for many other qld'ers to.
however moving back to brisbane i realised it wouldn't have been an issue there, the city blocks  a lot of evening sun and its further down from equator (is this right or am i thinking of something else?) as well so wouldn't have this sun setting at 8.30 problem. also for city workers and being so close to the n.s.w border there's a lot of pro's. but you can't divide the state/ or can you? they are considering dividing the time line from about central queensland down. i'm still pissed off though as i fall into the daylight savings side.

Hey i forgot about that Hemmi. good point. down Taz were Daz lives it is something like that but not as extream. i only notice it more as i'm used to what it's like here in NSW. but in summer in TAZ i noticed it never seems to get totally dark & seems to be light till a few hours latter than it is up here.

Snowcherry, that's a good point, but were i live building don't block out the daylight, that only happens in the CBD. for the first say two weeks it's seems hard to get up, but you become used to it, and you have more time to do daylight things out doors after work.

yup i lived out in the suburbs to, redlands area of brissy is fairly low level, definantly no CBD shadows there. but due to brisbane being so low down in general i'm pretty sure the sun sets there earlier than it does up here. or maybe i'm imagining it hah.   so i think in Brissy on savings you might get the sun setting around 7.30 to 8.00pm as you still have some buildings, while in a pure regional area and further up the coast you seem to add another half an hour of light easily so getting as late as 8.30pm.
now i don't mind the idea of an exta hour of daylight but pushing that 8pm mark and you're still running around and haven't even thought about dinner and shutting up and getting to bed i personally find is really pushing it. but that is just me, sure i could still close up early and have dinner early but its just weird with the sun out and maybe still so really hot

Urrrgh! I am so sick of having 3 hours difference between WA and the Eastern States. 

Bugger it! I’m going to start my own daylight savings.
