Plenty on here about tyres in the relevant area.

I believe  the standard Nexens are supposed to be ok, so may as well keep them until they wear out.

There are a couple of Continental models of tyre that get a good wrap for quietness.

I have changed from Nexens to Continentals to Nexans to Continentals (due to the steering & wheel alignment issues) and I have to say, my ears cannot pick the difference at all with regards to quietness.
Maybe it's my hearing, but I can't pick it.   :Dunno:

Could be that the Nexens are quieter than the Kumho's and Hankooks so less of a difference to pick up?   :undecided:
I know I noticed the difference going from the original Hankooks to the Continentals. :undecided:

When I got the two front tyres replaced due to alignment scrubbing, I had a look at the Contis in stock. The tyre dealer showed me how they have little bridges of rubber across the tread groove every 20cm or so in order to change the note of the road noise to something seemingly quieter, but the latest published 'ContiSilent' technology describes a polyurethane foam insert.

I must say I have been impressed with the Hankooks on my i40.

I'm very impressed with the Hankook Ventus Prime 2's on mine as well though they are a quite noisy on the course bitumen roads, totally silent on the smooth stuff but and they handle very well and have no signs of wear yet after 30,000km's
