Hi all, Have a 2007 I30 SLX CRDi, was lonely out there for a while in 2007 as had one of the 1st on the road. in 2008 the car traveled just under 50,000km, never missed a beat. Since then has only done 5000km, and that included the k's from Sydney to Townsville. Been a holden man all my life, and when i say holden i dont mean commodores. Always been HD's EH's FB, FC. Last one was a Hd Ute (1965) with 350 Chev, all the usuall for a highly modified car. Belonged to my son who bought it when he was 16, was a rough car, had a list as long as your arm of things he wanted done, colour, motor, trim, tray layout, ect; Sadly I lost him a car accident when he was 17, he never got to drive it, but used it for his hearse. Found the list, done eveything on it (except I didnt paint the tailgate, as he had it all prepared for paint), wouldnt have felt right completly finishing it. Dove it for one whole day, got permission of the police (they where there) and completly burnt out the rears to the casing at the spot I lost him. Parked it down the back of the property for 2 years, then just washed it one day and sold it the same day. Last fast and hard car I have driven, now the highest priority I look for is safety.  I apologise for going off track.

Hey welcome aboard marty (or should that be Colonel  marty?)

Sorry to hear of your tragic loss; I'm 51 and thankfully have never had to suffer like I'm sure you did.

Welcome marty62

Like you I've had my i30 since 2007 and can honestly say it been a pleasure to drive.

Also, like you I look at the safety features and for me here in the UK, the i30 ticks all the boxes.

Many more K's of carefree motoring.

Welcome Marty.. Like the others was very touched by your story. Tragic waste of a young life.

Glad to have you as a contributor on the site ...
