This was courtesy of a large twig/small branch from a neighbour's tree.

Luckily there was no shattered glass (just trying to be optimistic) and so I am curious to know whether this is easily repairable? I have spent some time looking into smart repairs and it appears this could be rectified either by pulling the dent out using an adhesive, or by "massaging" the dent from underneath the damaged surface using rods.

Curious to know what members here would do - as the thought of simply doing nothing had crossed my mind :undecided:

Is it an insurance job?

Doing nothing is always an option, it just annoys you every time you wash the car.

Then you'll go to sell it, and have to get it fixed anyway and wonder why you didn't do it earlier.....

I had a dent in the bumper on my previous car about the size of the dents in your i30. The mobile technician from Chips Away filled it and power sanded it to the correct profile then sprayed it and the repair could not be detected. My car was silver too.

However your dents appear to be right on the edge of the profile and may bulge out to the side - which probably requires more specialist attention in a body shop

That's a bugger! I reckon if it were me I'd see if I could email the pictures to a couple of paintless dent removal places for quotes.. Won't cost anything to ask. I'm guessing too minor to claim on insurance, due to excess. :undecided:

How old is the car as that would be the decider for me.

Also, cost as insurance will be hit next year so private fix may be worth looking at.

Has neigbour agreed it was their tree branch?
If so, see if a claim against their house policy is possible or even your own.

Thanks all. It may be an insurance job (the current excess is £0 so no immediate cost) but the effect on premiums is a concern as any damage/claim has to be disclosed for a number of years. The neighbour is pleasant and I'll try to have a chat with him to find out his position.

Alan - a smart repair is what I am considering. What was the approximate cost if you don't mind me asking? ChipsAway may be a good option. I'll take a photo with a ruler next to the damage and see if any paintless dent removers are interested in estimating their costs on the basis of photos via email (thanks Dazzler).

The vehicle is 2.5 years old. And it already annoys me when I merely look out of the window and it's the first thing I see :(

Get a glass suction cup and see if you can pull the dents yourself....
