A mate of mine is interested in a new I30 so we went online to check prices on some of the UK car brokers web sites. The first one had removed the I30 from their list with a message that Hyundai were no longer producing I30's for the UK market. On the next two the I30 had been removed without any explanation. We found one site with it still on their list but this may have been because the site had not been updated yet.I know the I10 has been their best seller in the UK followed by the I20 so maybe they have not sold enough I30's to warrant producing right hand drive models just for the UK when the rest of mainland Europe is left hand drive.Anybody else heard anything about this?.

Does this mean my car is worth heaps more than I paid for it as it becomes a collectors car?

I'm sure there is no truth in this.

I suspect they make a significant amount of money from the C segment in the UK, and have no other car in that segment.

The two litre diesel seems to have been withdrawn, and I'm guessing is about to be replaced with a different engine option, but this is just speculation at this stage.

Currently supply appears to be someway behind demand for the i30, especially for the diesel options.

Hyundai are spending millions on it in TV advertising on channel 5 at the moment. As I speak a red and blue i30 are sponsoring the teatime movie.

driverthedeal just gave me a quote, no problem. But it's never been too easy to get an i30 from a broker, Hyundai dont appear to be very broker friendly.

I'd be interested in a link to the broker site quoted......

Ah, its says the same message for a Santa Fe too I notice.

I suspect it should say "None of our registered dealers are offering to sell you a discounted i30 at the moment so we'd like you to buy something else".

This could be generated by the huge backlog of orders they already have, and maybe also the offical switch over to the 2010MY version, which will have to be (I believe) Euro5 compliant. Speculation still on my part.

Not finished though, reverse auction sites are not the first place to announce such things. And as I learnt when 14, you don't stop selling ice creams while the sun is out.

Here in Australia, i never see i30 Diesel advertised they only advertise the petrol , they also give special deals on petrol. think diesel are in short supply here too. but i'm just guessing.
when you have a good product it sell's itself.

Hi I agree with Lorian, dealers are just not giving them discounts, so it's not worth selling them.

I walked in to a dealer one month ago and both the petrol & diesel were readily available - test drove both....bought that diesel 2 days later.......basically no waiting or ordering in

Here in the UK we have a scrappage scheme where we are given £2000 GBP for handing in our old junk against a new car, Hyundai have been the major winner of orders on this scheme, causing the waits.

Hello Dazz, no connection to Hyundai, just trying to buy one!

Had one order cancelled by an agent because Hyundai could not meet demand, possibly because of scrappage scheme and ill timed strong  advertising which is still ongoing.

The info which I posted is genuine because I have a copy of the official brief issued to UK dealers.

Am about to re-order i30 Comfort Diesel Auto for delivery in January. 2010MY list price £15,000 less £3,000 discount plus £395 for Continental Silver metallic. Would prefer manual box but recent gammy left knee needs auto.

I reckon the 2010MY might have Daytime Running Lights (all new vehicles in EU should have these by 2011).

Yeah. a new model is avaliable from jan 4th.
They are dropping the two litre , but I figured this would happen, as they dropped it out of the Kia C'eed.. *sister company*
Not many of the 2.0 wer sold, due to the fact i think that technicaly speaking only more bhp was offered, higher tax, insurance and lower mpg could be the reason for this.
I havnt seen any pix of the 2010 yet, will be interesting to see it. They are lowering the spec however of the entry model, making it similar to others that are sold throughout Europe. i.e classic with no alloys, manual rear windows etc.
Stil with ESP standard and air con etc.
steering wheel mounted audio control only avliable now on midrage up. The newly name comfort. is taking over from the style, with the premium coming with or without full leather. customers choice. As for colours I hope they bring it out in white for the U.k

I have the Comfort so it will be interesting to see how the "new" Comfort it differs from mine.

The new comfort is not half leather, just leather wheel and knob.

The new premium is only half leather not full.

the 2.0 is gone for now, but they are/have considered the new 2.0 R series (IIRC this was 156bhp?)

If you believe what you read on the web  :)

I don't think so. The hyundai cardealer where I bought my i30 (London) had 100's of orders, the salesman showed me piles of i30 orders, I think that was true because on the day that I took my had at least 10 more customers wainting to buy their i30.

I think the dealers just stopped taking orders for a few weeks while the 2010 model specs were being awaited. Technically they don' take orders against the new spec until 4th January, but there are plenty on the web offering them already. There's not really that much difference unless you wanted to buy a comfort spec. The new comfort is similar to the old style (no paart leather seats), and the new classic is a lower spec, to have a new lower entry price.

There is also supposed to be a new "special edition" of some type, but there is no details yet as far am I''m aware. I'd be willing to bet on a 2.0CRDi sport with a new engine sometime later in the year too.
