Hi All

I am no expert at the technical details of what rims/tyres fit... can anyone tell me if these [17"] rims would fit an i30 with 225/45/R17 rubber fitted?

http://www.speedywheels.com.au/images/zoom/lite-fin.htm

[note: the specs of the rim are at the bottom of the page]

I'm thinking a black i30, with bodykit, tint and these wheels would look awesome  8-)

Regards
Simon

Hi Simon,

Your tyres should fit those wheels O/K  and as far as I'm aware the stud pattern is 5 x 114.3 the only problem you could have is what happened to Eyma Teapot and Thumper with their first choice of wheel. Apparently they need to be fairly well dished inside to fit the i30. I would email speedy tyres or anyone else who sells that wheel (think Bob Janes can also get it) to see if they've tried them on an i30 yet....

Cheers,

Simon,

I like multi spoke wheels put a similar set on the wife's Tiida!

Thanks Darryl.

Were they fitting 17's or 18's to their i30?      And can you please ellaborate a little more on what you mean by dished?

Given I'll be ordering the car & wheels via a leasing company, I won't get a chance to see a) what they look like, or b) if they actually fit !!

Cheers
Simon

Hi Simon... Think they were fitting 18" but by dished mean the shape of the inside of the wheel so it fits on the hub without fouling anything. Guess you could nominate that wheel subject to it fitting (it is not an expensive wheel by my understanding...) ( I can do a graphic of what it will look like tonight - what colour are you getting? - I forget...)

Cheers,

Dazz

Hi Simon,

At a glance, I reckon those wheels would be fine. I reckon they would look great too. They are similar to the ones i originally picked that wouldnt fit. I ordered the wheels at Bob jane T mart. They were called RJR (Rodney Jane Racing) linear. They were 18" alloys, Shadow chrome with a polished metal rim. They fitted the at the rear fine, but when they tried to fit the front wheels, they found that they wouldnt clear the brake caliphers. The spokes on these wheels were set back a long way and didnt dish outwards enough to clear the caliphers. The wheels you have choosen here seem to have the spokes at the front edge so should be fine.
There is more information and discusion under another thread on this site tittled Alloy wheel frusrtation.
I hope I have been some help, and I really do dig those wheels you picked.

Cheers

Thanks guys - and especially Darryl for going to all that effort !  You did very well getting the wheels on the right angle.

I've also played a little in photoshop, but haven't got them up online anywhere (if you provide your email I can send them - perhaps you could post them here?)

I need to see the rims in the flesh, so might pop into Bob Jane.

Cheers !

Simon

Sorry Darryl and others who have Moonlight blue    I just grabbed a selection of i30's from the Hyundai website... will complete the rest soon !

Whilst I wouldn't normally consider red, I think it would look quite good with those rims.

Cheers
Simon

BTW thanks for posting them !!!

Simon,

Make sure you let us all know what wheels you fit and of coarse include pics.
