I would like to see it too, shame the Mercedes take-over of Brawn GP has seen the outfit take a step back though, this years car looks worse than last years so far :'(

I find it incredible, how the drivers can walk away from some of those crashes, without being hurt.

i always wonder if the person was OK.  :'(  in the video at about 3min 50sec I'm sure the driver flies out when the car rolls over.  :scared:

I agree about relating to the rally or tin tops more, however WRC cars bear little resemblance to your road model these days either, you never could get a 4WD Focus or C4 and you can't get 4WD Fiesta or DS3 now.
Sure, they share bodyshell shape but after that forget it, anybody who watches rally these days and thinks "ooh, those Citroens are reliable and tough" will be sorely dissapointed......not like the old days when an Escort won on Sunday and folks went to buy one on Monday, which only now exists in PWRC where the Scoobs and Evos reside......

F1 cars have not been close to road cars in decades, perhaps the Stirling Moss era open seaters were but even back in Jim Clarks day they had turned into the cheese wedges.  The point of F1 though is as a test bed for technology, think of the recent advances in rally/touring/road car technology and then find where they were first trialled and you will find it was F1, I am thinking paddle shift, ABS, ESP/TCS, KERS, crash safety.....

I guess that is the whole point of being humans, what a bore it would be if we all liked the same thing, my first love is also rally but being a glutton for all things vehicle related had to grow up watching the F1 for my petrol fix since rally or touring cars was never shown live (except for the RAC where we used to get live coverage of the opening stage and daily highlights), but the Ecclestone steamroller already had F1 as the rival to football for us non-footie types.

To see rally you had to go and stand in the forests, which many footie types just do not understand, but for me that is more exciting than 90 minutes watching 22 vastly overpaid guys falling over blades of grass and pretending they were pushed

Trish and I both got taken to the famous Longford Race course as toddlers to watch motor racing.. and later to Symmonds Plains Raceway.. There were open wheeler races but think there was more tin top racing .. So that is probably why we both lean in that direction..

Plus we have both followed the Targa Tasmania for the last 20 years (about 14 of those together) :goodjob:

Edit: Sounds like you had fun Steve  :D

I love MotoGP but even that is turning into yawnsville with all the electronic aids these days......It's got that way that it's more a case of who has the better electronics on the day than the skills of the rider....
