Its widely reported today that there is likely to be a slight re-jig of the UK scrappage scheme for the last few weeks of it's existence, until the end of February.

The remaining funds seem set to be split into a set number of deals per manufacturer, quite possibly based on a share reflecting the number of cars already sold under scrappage.

It's also widely reported that Hyundai has been the biggest seller under scrappage, with the i10 being the best selling model.

When I picked Fergie up yesterday after the service/repairs I asked about the dealership's momentum with respect to scrappage, and from next week they're apparently aligning themselves with Toyota's "swappage" scheme.

Not particularly aligned to the scrappage scheme, their new customer incentive is intended to reflect a similar cost saving based on trade-ins upto the "52" plate (upto Mar 2003) registered cars.

That might be a dealership-only scheme but I can see it propagating through the brand...
