Hi everyone! I've been a reader of these forums for quite some time, it's certainly been a great resource - and the regulars here are very friendly! So now that I actually own an i30, I decided to become a member. A lot of questions I had have been answered just by reading, though I do have a few more, so I'll try to ask them in the appropriate places.
A bit about my i30: as per the thread title, I currently live on the Gold Coast in Queensland (around the middle of the east coast of Australia for international members). However, I purchased my i30 from a gentleman in Sydney. I flew down early Friday morning (two days ago) - I was accompanied by my mum so we could share driving duties - he met us at the airport, we did business and then drove back up. The total trip took almost exactly 12 hours - including 5 stops - but we pretty much went straight up via the Pacific Highway. Covered nearly 950km.
More specifics: my i30 is a late '07 SLX model, manual/diesel, and is vivid blue in colour (looks stunning with the alloy wheels!). It's done 90,000km, but doesn't feel like it at all. The seller was generous enough to put in a full tank of fuel before we flew down, and yes - we made it back on the one tank. The warning light wasn't even on!
So very impressed so far, can certainly see why people here are so cheerful! See you all soon (not literally tho)
