So I picked up my 2012 GD i30 Active CRDi in April 2013 (See
2012 GD i30 Active CRDi - One year on for my 1-year update).
Summary:
- 118,100 km travelled for an average of 5.05 L/100km economy
- It has been a great vehicle with no issues in the first 9 years of its life
- 87,000 km on the factory tyres. On its second set now.
- Minor issues with steering (plastic power steering lug and clock spring needed replacement in the last 12 months)
- Tailgate latch broke late last year. Genuine replacement part was pricey, but easy to replace
- When car is cold and on a slight incline there is a distinct rattle from dash/engine bay (I've not been able to find it!)
- Paintwork still 100% A few minor rock chips on the front
- Headlight plastic starting to get opaque
- Interior in excellent condition (my mum says it is amazing what not having children will do
)
- Factory floormats mostly good condition, other than the drivers mat that has two distinct worn heel marks
I've still been maintaining my fuel spreadsheet:
i30 Fuel Usage - Google TabellenI'm still waiting for a decent affordable electric hatch (MG4 looks good) to replace the i30. So I'll probably have her for another year or two. She was definitely a great investment for $21k ten years ago.
