I have a slight problem. My 2014 Hyundai i30 Elite diesel has decided to not play podcasts through the bluetooth radio connection any more. I have 3 seperate podcast apps and an mp3 player for audio books and none of them produce sound anymore. Prior to yesterday it all worked fine. The radio still actually connects to the phone without an issue, if you ignore its stubborn silence. One of the apps reports (on the actual phone screen) something along the lines of "this audio media channel seems to be muted". poking the mute button does nothing to solve the problem. None of the other apps send me similarly cryptic messages, but they still don't work. Google just tells me that there must be a hardware issue.
I'm not convinced it's a hardware issue becasue the phone actually connects to the radio fine and it still functions as a phone, sending and receiving calls through the bluetooth connection exactly as normal.
I was going to pull the fuse to reset the radio but two things stopped me. The first thing is that I don't have a record of the radio code, so once I pull the fuse the whole thing will be muted until I can get the code. Getting the code requires removing the radio to get the serial number, which Hyundai told me will take about an hour (at $180 an hour) , so I'm not keen on that solution.
The second reason is because the radio actually has a reset button above the CD eject button and I'm contemplating pressing it, but I'm not sure if I'll need a radio code after I press it or not. Information about what happens after you press the button is hard to come by. Has anybody had to use the reset button? And was it the end of the world or did it work out fine?
