You could take your original badges off hit them with wet/dry sandpaper a coat of primer and two coats of matte black bumper paint.

Is there any trick to taking off the front/rear emblems? I was thinking about doing this as well but they look like they are a bit harder to get off compared to the rest of the badges.

I believe these have two pins about a millimetre or two thick which go through the metal.. So they are certainly harder to get off.. At least one of our members took them off and then had to work out the best thing to stick them back on with...

correct dazz, and no it wasn't me.   the grill emblem comes off after you've removed the grill its self. I'm sure the emblem comes off with the chrome along the top of the grill.

I am planning on getting a new grill so the front emblem will come off anyway. I was more thinking how to get off the rear one, are they held in by screws as well?

no mate, just plastic tabs. but the couple of posts I've read about removing it,the tabs break as you pry it off. maybe you could pop the tabs from the inside of the hatch.

Haha! Exactly what my wife said to me today when she walked into the garage and saw me de-badging the car.

I think perhaps I was the member Dazz was referring to that took the chrome oval H badge off the tail gate of my cw and then found out it had connecting pins drilled through the metal and then I had to superglue it back  :-[.

If the car hasn't been exposed to the sun for too long it's quite easy using the fishing line method similar to the way used to remove the other badges but because of the pins .... place the fishing line at the back on top of the badge and work down to the middle, do the same from the bottom and then left and right side until you feel the pin ..... easy as  :).
