i was putting in additional LED strip lights in my boot for better illumniation as the current boot light is so weak when i think i might have shorted something. i lost function to my remote central locking, room lamp, radio & i can't even open my boot now! has anyone  encountered this before?

i've checked all fuses except the one for the room lamp which i couldn't pull out completely. seems to be in some sort of housing which i can only pull out halfway.

That "halfway" fuse will be the memory fuse, not designed to be removed completely but just enough to cut the power to any residual "going away for a long holiday and don't need power" features.

Should be removable though and sounds like you need to check it...

I had a similar issue just this evening. got to the car but the remote unlock won't work. manually unlocked the door.  When I got inside, my mirrors won't open and i don't have room lights.  I managed to carefully drive home without wing mirrors. when I checked the fuse,  one of the memory fuse has blown.  the label says its for the stop lamp.  when I tried to replace the fuse,  it blew the moment I put it in.  any idea what could be wrong? i also notice that the tailgate open indicator keeps blinking even though the tailgate is closed.  anyone experienced this before?

Never had the issue but for information the electric wing mirrors can still be manually folded/unfolded when the power to the car is off ie, the ignition is not switched on.

Wouldn't forcing it open damage the motors or strip the gears? I tried opening it manually but it is closed real tight or i wasn'ttrying hard enough

hi prgervacio .... have you done any electrical modifications which needed stripping wires to the stop lamp? sounds like a connection is shorting which could be blowing the fuse straight away  :undecided:
