Here is a video of mine, shot this afternoon on the way to the airport (disregard the time and date, I've just set them up correctly). On the 4-th minute one can see the commercial public bus cross an intersection, right in front of my car, although it was a red light for it

I would have been very annoyed if a bus had blocked me like that

Very clear for 480 resolution  :goodjob: I could hear your annoyance  .. and you drove pretty quickly afterwards  lucky no one came out between any of those cars  :sweating:

Are they big apartments blocks you started out from.. we don't really have that sort of living in Tasmania.

I was angry, right, I suppose the driver was an immigrant, which may explain this stupid maneuver.
I didn't drive as fast as it was allowed in a city, especially on that part of the road with lot of dents on asphalt, I assume the speed was about 50 km/h. There were only three pedestrian crossing on that part, one in the very beginning with green light for cars, another - nearby the end with no pedestrian in view and the last one - in the end, where I almost halted.

The camera - it is DOD F500LHD with 1920x1080 resolution, as stated by manufacturer.

The building I started out from is my home, this is five-story block of flats typical of Russia (I live on the 5-th floor, for info, we do not use "ground floor" notion, the counting of floors starts with first up to x, thus I dwell on the top level) , this type of houses is called "Khrushchev building"

You should drive any Russian car (VAZ 2104, for example)  to realize even 30km/h may seem too fast  (a friend of mine owns this type of car and I join him as a passenger sometimes).

Bus driver.............. death wish driver.........

I bet the passengers wondered what was going on.

From what I could see it looks as if flats are the order of the day where you live rather than single housing units.

Enjoyed the vid...

I test drove a Lada Riva (top of the range job) when I was younger, thinking that there were a lot of them on our roads, they couldn't be that bad. :whistler: :whistler:

Oh how wrong I was, no power, steering rack was like whisking a pot of yoghurt which when you got it to the right consistency might then make the front wheels go in the vague direction you were aiming for, a truly horrid car

Omg! What's with all those holes in the roads. We have crappy roads, but there are no holes, damn! And don't tell me you have to drive there every day  Pfff...

Regarding Lada's. Great car, my grand father had Lada looking exactly like this one. Also few people in our village had Lada Niva. Great car for snow.

Well I would say most of the roads in Russia are in the same quality and some are much more worser, though there some excellent ones, indeed.
I do not drive along the road you can see on the video too often, only when I fail to take the left lane before the transaction (by the way, at the end of that road one can see the Ijorsky unit).

Lada used to be a good car long time ago, when people didn't have vast choice of cars, Niva is good as well, although I think there is a better one, which is UAZ a jeep that was initially designed for Army.

After last winter the roads round here (Blackpool, England) were terrible, and a few still are despite them re-laying and repairing them at a fair pace. The ones in the vid looked fine apart from a couple of places.  That Khrushchev guy obviously had them built well !

My dad had a Lada some years back. I didn't like it at all but it got him around I suppose. Don't remember it breaking down.
