  • Wirral, UK. - 1.4 Petrol Active - Aqua Blue
Following on from the Merseyside Police who entered a lease last year.

It just shows how they are thinking of what comfort they want to afford to the crims they are transporting to the nick...

How come you have a white plate on the front and a yellow one at the rear.

Also, have they "debadged" the tailgate?

So that at a glance (especially at night) you know whether it's the front or the back of a vehicle you are looking at.
It's a bit like we have white reflectors on the RHS on guide posts and red reflectors on LHS guide posts.
Not a bad idea really.

I've always found the headlights or tail lights are a dead giveaway. :whistler:

However, the way the poms park on either side of the road regardless of direction of travel probably comlicates things.

True, it does. And I have noticed that with the recent influx of British immigrants we have here, more and more cars are parking that way in Perth too which is a worry.  :undecided:
Plus there are lots of British accents on TV commercials now.

It is. And for a perfectly logical reason. The reflectors are built into the tail lights so they'll show up early in the glow from approaching headlights on a dark street.

Which is what different coloured reflective rear number plates do too  :D

OK. I didn't know they were reflective. Haven't noticed it on my trips to the UK.
Both front and rear plates are reflective in Queensland - strong enough to read between headlights on low beam.

I actually think the Poms have it right. I agree with different coloured number plates front & rear.
I remember back in (I think 1966 or 1967) in W.A. when we changed from white on black plates to black on white plates, supposedly for safety reasons too.

No it's in the right thread Alan, we're talking about you guys parking your cars all over the place in any direction. It's  :offtopic: but that's where I spend my time when the tavern is closed. I see you're here now, so is the Tavern open

Diesel or Petrol Steve? (do you know)

How did you obtain that information? The MID database will give whether a vehicle is insured...ostensibly to the owner or "authorised" enquirers.  DVLA sells registered owner information to those prepared to pay.

Too much personal data is available far too easily despite the Data Protection Act and   DVLA should not be able to sell information to anyone wiling to pay.
