Just a quick message and one photo sorry. Just spent a couple of hours having breaky at Maccas and cruising around my local area (Shearwater/Latrobe & Devonport) with Jamie (Fatboy)

Not sure if you have to be a nice person to buy an i30 or having an i30 makes you into a nice person  but like every other member I have met so far (and that is over 20) Jamie didn't disappoint..

I reckon we still wouldn't have run out of things to talk about after 2 days let alone 2 hours...He had a 300 kilometre drive to do and people to see (so I begrudgingly let him go)  :( (after we identified a couple of spots on the block he could land a helicopter next time he is in the area

I am "wrapped" to have such a nice fella moving down here (and just for the record he's skinnier than me .. but that wouldn't be hard)

Great post Dazzler. You're right, Jamie's a really nice bloke.

I finally get to see the Fatboy i30. Looks nice, but has a bit of a SAG in the front :whistler: :whistler:

:D great shot - thanks both :goodjob:

As for the moniker "fatboy" I believe that's a misnomer - there's nothing boyish about you mate

Thanks Dazzler, I had a great time with you.  It was a great way to break up my travel and to get to see a bit of the North of Tasmania.  As you said, I reckon we could have kept talking for a few more days!!  Thanks once again for your's and Trish's hospitality.

As for the rest of the day, I dropped into AGFEST (Tasmanian Agricultural Field Day) and checked out a few future toys (quad bikes, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws, etc).  Quite a good event (if a little muddy).

The rest of the day was pretty well spent driving South with only a few showers to pass through.  I'll post up a story of my travels later on (with a few photos).

Thanks Jamie you saved me 25 cents  :happydance:  I hadn't messaged you yet as I wanted to make sure you were settled in first.

So it was a resonably pleasant drive down then?

It was the best type of drive, uneventful!!

Saying that, there was nearly an accident about 5 km from my destination (not me, thankfully).  An i30cw (most probably a tourist), didn't give way at an intersection (after stopping) and pulled out in front of a car.  Luckily the second car was going about 40 km/h and was able to avoid a collision (with much head shaking).

cool.
By the way, I love car's registration plate  :goodjob2:  if it were in Russia someone would pay much money to obtain the plates like that (they are called "nice plates" and distinguished by a combination of similar figures, such as 999, 111 etc or/and certain letters)

It used to be, if you "knew" someone in the Main Roads Department you could access certain combinations as they came up. Had a mate who rallied and Renault R8 many, many years ago and his navigator was in the MRD (still is I think). The letter sequence was coming up to "POO" and they snagged "POO-000
First rally with the new plates they shot off the road on a bend supposed to take them to the side of a farm yard. And ended up in the pig enclosure.
I promise you that is a true story.
