      Caloundra, Queensland.
This one's on my doorstep. I won't actually be able to see it out my back door or front door but I'll sure be able to hear it. Special stage on Staurday night at Caloundra Aerodrome.
The rally cars gather for the officail start at Kings Beach Caloundra on Friday night. I'll go round and take a few pics of the cars and maybe catch up with a couple of old friends.
Entry Lists here. http://www.rallyqueensland.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=160

The event is a round of the following series.

FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship

Bosch Australian Rally Championship

Australian Classic Rally Series

Queensland Rally Championship

Australian SidexSide Rally Challenge

All Comers

There's 15 teams here for the AP Championship, including Chris Aitkinson in a Skoda and Allistair McRae in a Proton. Protons, Skodas and Lancers seem to be the vehicles of choice here.
19 entries in the ARC.
22 in the QRC.
10 in the Classic Rally group, including former Australian Champs Neal bates and Coral taylor in an RA40 Celica. Plus a Porsche 911 Alfa Romea Alfetta GT, Escort BDA, Escort RS 1800(former champ, Ross Dunkerton), BMW etc. Not many starters here but I'm predicting a growth in numbers in the future. Cheaper, more fun.

I suspect that all the birds will be over in your back yard's sanctuary for the duration of this event.  :)

Actually, the main part of the event is held in the State Forests in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
They want $30 to go view the special stage at the Caloundra airport so I may just be a cheapskate and go watch the (free) ceremonial start.
Rallying has gone (come?) a long way from when we used to make use of our Army Survey maps and find a side road in to the forest and watch anywhere we felt like it.
