Hello all,
I have only just found this site, looks great so far.
I have had my sx i30 for about 2 months now, love it. Its going really well, however, i have been monitoring my diesel consumption upon each fill and my average is hovering at 5.3L/100km. Best tank was/is 4.86. Has anyone ever beaten manufacturers claim? I have noticed a few people referring to their trip computer...SX doesn't seem to have it. :( Is there a mod or reprogramming session whereby Hyundai can install it in the SX?
Looking forward to your replies. Hopefully these are new questions...
Cheers, Shane

well, no one's really answered your question about the trip computer - and I don't know either. And welcome.

Welcome to the forum ;)

I've had mine for two weeks and done 1200km. The lowest my trip computer has gone is 6L/100km.  Should improve with time!

I don't think you can get the trip computer in the SX :S

I do believe you can get aftermarket computers to gauge fuel use etc - I think that's what the 'ScanGauge II' thing people are talking about in the fuel consumption threads...

Thanks for all the welcomes fellas.
I have seen the scan gauge but i am not too keen on having a new readout poking about(read:I'm not allowed), i think it should be able to be changed though. My reasoning being that i traded in my Satria Gti for this and prior to it i had a Satria Xli. These were pretty different in terms of specifications however i modified the Xli a bit, i.e. stereo, etc. and all the wires were still run through the doors even though there were no speakers there, because the Gti had door mounted speakers as standard. There were all sorts of little things that were in the Xli that they weren't really going anywhere with but made sense when in the gti. Of course i had those for 5 years each so i had a pretty good idea about them, maybe when this one is a bit older I'll start rooting around inside it and what not.
I imagine it to be quite the job to have different LCD screens in each level of spec, so perhaps it is just a program that lets the fuel usage be visible. Anyways i guess only head office would know
Wow, that was a bit of writing, sorry.

You should be! Lol. I imagine that you're right re the LCD display, however there would have to be extra components installed to read the things it needs to display, not just the programming, else they would make it standard.
