My wife bought the Mazda3 Neo a year ago when I wrote off my other car. I was set to buy one as well until I found out the i30 came in a diesel. Then I did some comparisons and for mostly the same "bonus features" (you had to buy the upgraded Mazda to get the diesel version) the i30 shat all over it. Main things for me were purchase price and fuel economy.

I got my 2012 Active Diesel for $22657 drive away and the Mazda diesel was about $27000. That's a lot of dollars left in my sky rocket.

Yes some of these stuck up Mazda owners treat us Hyundai owners like poor cousins.

I have a Mazda 3 owning neighbour and a relative like that, Jap car snobs.
