I understand it is possible to load music into existing memory - how is this done ? Via the USB ? Can anyone explain in detail for a person technically challenged !!

Funny, I thought I saw the answer to this in your welcome thread but not the question

The USB retains the music and the system reads and plays it directly as an attached storage device (plugged into the USB slot inside the centre armrest in the FD, in the face of the centre console in the GD. ) No 'loading' takes place - your USB device needs to stay plugged in to use it.

According to one of the manuals, there is mention of "saving" the current playing tune to the audio system. Doesn't elaborate on it further.

I contacted icare to ask for more details - what size memory is available, how many tunes can it save, is it a permanent save or goes away when unit is off.

Chap from icare stated that "he didn't know & couldn't find any answers"

Lost interest as it seems a PITA having to load each tune individually, a lot easier to get a few USB Stiks & load them up in bulk via PC.

I think the 'saving' is just that it knows where you were when you last used it and resumes from that point. Does this for all sound output - radio, CD and USB.

Hi,

You can store up to 1 Gb in the "my music" folder.

Place the USB stick in the slot, choose the song you want to copy, select menu and copy. The song will now be copied into the "my music" folder.

Yes, if you hear a song on the radio you like you can record and save it.
I haven't used the feature but it was shown to me when I picked the car up (not physically, when it was delivered  :D).

Many thanks to all advice - have music files loaded on a USB memory stick - when plugged in to the USB connection in the centre of the dash it initially says reading files - then says 'no files' Tried more than 1 memory stick. Does it matter what format the music files are in ?

Fat32 format usb and mp3's definitely work. Read your manual for other music file types.
