Hi

I'm new around here... found the site while trying to google some information about my crash :( rear ended by a 4wd.

welll my name is Melissa, im 23 and live in Perth :)

I have/had(?) a Hyundai i30 late 2011 model that I got in July 2012.

I never thought of myself as a car enthusiast.. but I think that is because I was driving a dodgy excel since I got my licence 6 years ago... now that I've experienced a taste of the luxury of driving a nice car I have to say I actually love driving  :happydance: except for the getting hit part

I got full leather in mine with lots of toys & gizmo's that save me having to do things like switch my lights on, or my windscreen wipers... and my seats are heated, reverse sensors, auto dimming mirror... it's a great car!

I live in a place called Telford, near the English border with Wales... and a stones throw from the very first bridge ever made of iron in the entire World!

Hi Melissa :) Welcome to the forum! I hope they fix your car for you :( I just finished reading your thread about your accident.

I've had one car written off a few years back and an accident when I was 18. The one when I was 18, the front of my car bonnet looked like an accordian :( It was almost in the front seat. It was a demo model car and they fixed it up for me.

The other my husband was driving and got T-boned by another driver. The damage was minimal to us. The drivers and rear drivers door were a little dented and that was it. Turned out there must have been much more damage because it was a $10 000 2nd hand car that we'd had for about 6 weeks and they wrote it off (broke my heart, I loved that car!).

We too have been enjoying owning a new one. Our last 2 were 17 years and 14 years old so our new one feels like heaven in comparison.

Good luck with getting your car back soon!

Thanks for the welcomes :)

seems like the car will get fixed and be good as new in no time.

panda that must have been scary!! yea the excel I was driving was nearly 20 years old!! no power steering, no air bags, unreliable aircon, bubbling tinting... oh the list could go on.

even just the seat in the i30 is awesome almost better than my couch :) I drove from busselton to perth (3hrs) straight a few weekends ago and didnt even feel tired or sore from that length of time :)

Awesome  :D Glad it's getting fixed!

It was scary. I wasn't in the car at the time so got one of those dreaded "I've had an accident" calls.

And I hear you on the bubbled tinting! My other halfs had that. It was so bad I could hardly see out of it. We paid to have it all removed about 4 months ago when we thought we were hanging onto the car for a while longer

Yeah its quite expensive really, I looked into that at the start of the year.. I was either going to spend a chunk of money to make the excel really nice and freshened up, or buy a whole new car. The cost of removing and putting more tinting on was basically the entire value of the car LOL...

Yes, well.....we actually spent more on the other halfs car in the last 3 months of it's life than we got for it as a trade in  :-[ We spent what it was worth 1 week before we bought the new one ( :-[ :-[). Do you have your car back yet? :)

That's great Mel.  I bet it's a relief to have your car back looking like new.
