It hard to believe that this weekend is the summer solstice.

The weather here on Merseyside, the home of the Beatles, Everton and Liverpool Football Clubs and of course me, is overcast, bleak, 14c, rain clouds looming and all in all a rather dismal day.

Roll on winter!  At least then we expect rain, snow, cold days and are never disappointed.

Yeah it's much the same here mate, a few miles away. We had our 5 days of Summer a few weeks back so we shouldn't moan too much.

Crap innit?

Sounds really miserable...

I also hate the Summer Winter in Melbourne, it can be overcast, bleak, 14c, rain clouds looming and all in all rather dismal!

You just described the UK Summer perfectly

Thats what we get from living on a island in the North-Atlantic-ocean, mild winters and warm summers, at least where I live, but UK gets a little warmer summers.

Instead of most other places in Northern Europe that gets cold winters and hot summers, I would prefer that, I have nothing against cold, I just hate rain, especially when next day it starts freezing and you car is one big icecube, grrr. and then it rains and little snow, and then rains and slush everywhere, and rain and rain and clouds....ahhhhh

Here are some weather averages from bbc weather,

Winnipeg, Canada.                                                                 Reykjavik, Iceland.

Hobart, Australia.                                                                   London, UK.

I wanna move to warmer climate

Very interesting Hemmi.. Thanks for including Tasmania.. Devonport is slightly milder than Hobart our capital which is roughly 250kms further south..

If you looked at say Perth, Adelaide or Sydney there would be an even bigger difference (and Darwin.. )

I really like viewing weather reports around the world, , here's the link to bbc weather city guides http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/world/city_guides/index.shtml?show=a_guides

Also interesting how the weather is in cities around equator with constant same temperature but extreme rainy/monsoon seasons.

So does Cairns - I've just got back from the speedway and we were all freezing, the temp was down to 19C :)

It's been sunny with occasional showers in Aberdeen for the last week or so, the temp has varied (according to the i30) from 8C-22C.

And when it doesn't rain, it doesn't rain hard! (Hard in this circumstance equals about 3 years :P )

You southerners don't know what rain is

That site doesn't have our city of Cairns listed, but here's some data from another one. We only have two seasons, the Wet and the Dry so I've overwritten them accordingly :)

Dunno why they list Brownsville, not Cairns - we get way more rain than they do!
