Does anybody here has replaced the timing belt on their i30?
How much will it cost?

I've yet to reach a decision between i30 or (waiting for) new cerato hatch, and I'd like to consider the servicing costs.

PS: I've read the new cerato (sedan) is pretty good, have not test drive it though.. Any inputs?

I'm pretty sure all the i30 models (except perhaps old 2 litre petrol) have chains rather than belts - should be good for a long, long time.

That's awful part of me. I apologise.
I read it in caradvice back then, it was stated i30 needs timing belt change. So a little bit put off by that.

The 1.8 GDI Engine would appear to be the same (both deliver 110kw).

I don't know if the i30 petrol engines have timing belts or not, but lots of cars do have belts that will need replacement at some point.

I know the Toyota Corolla 1.8 petrol engine of 2012 does not have a belt.  To me, that is a plus.
