Hi,

I'm planing to buy i30 Active and the only thing I'm missing is the reversing camera. The salesman told me that they can fit one into the rear view mirror.  I'm wondering if there is a camera that can be connected to the already existing 5" display?

Thanks

Pawel

Welcome Pawel,

If only it was that easy (If so I would imagine that Hyundai would offer it as an option)

I stand to be corrected though (But very unlikely in my opinion)  :Pout:

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know if it can be done.
I have the Active as well and I opted for a top of the range Navman which also has a 5 inch screen and a reversing camera can be connected to that.

Hey there,

Dont think you can, without a lot of tweaking with the wiring. The hyundai camera is more than likely wired in through a special plug and not the typical component way.

You might want to check about the quality of the camera before you invest. I fitted one of these to one of my parents cars: http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_25361.htm

And the camera suffers from so much flare its not always useful. It connects via bluetooth which is neat and the mirror mounting component requires recharging periodically as well as being turned on and off.

Just stating so you are aware how these things operate. In this case more pain than its worth from my perspective.

Thanks for that comment. I was looking to get a camera for "She Who Must Be Obeyed" but if the quality is crap it would be useless.
By the way, how do you get permission to use the Prime Ministers pic as your logo ???
