Three companies in the Czech Republic have collaborated on a prototype bicycle that is also capable of flying.

Currently in the test phase, a mannequin is placed on the bike while it is controlled remotely like a model aeroplane.

But in the near future a human will sit on the bike, and control it from there, according to developers.

While on the ground the bike is pedal-powered, and in the air it is powered by a battery, which currently limits flight time to 5 minutes.

Why 2.5?
Make it 5. You'll come back down anyway.
I believe the first model is going to be called the Mary Poppins.
I actually thought it would be more up FatBoy's alley.

Hey, just because I was in the Navy doesn't mean I like it in the .....  Oh, wait, I see what you mean.

Not for me thanks, I prefer my flying to be regulated and controlled.

Not very, it didn't look like it got much out of "Ground Effect", so it would probably only get to only 20 ft or so.  Still, that'll hurt if you come off at that height.

I imagine it would.
I've only ever come off at ground level and that was bad enough.
