I've got this lump............

On my foot, fools.
Specifically on the side of the ball of my right foot. It's been there fro years and I put it down to the pressure I put on it when surfing. It's my back foot and I tend to roll my weight forward when turning the board. Anyway it's getting bigger and sometimes a bit sore. My doc said it's just a callus and to go see a podiatrist and he'll "grind" it off.
Podiatrist explained it's not actually a callus although there's a bit of one forming on top of it. Because he's not sure about it he sends me for an ultrasound.

The ultrasounder (ist?) spent ages sliding his little viewer all over it. About 10 minutes in I had this overwhelming urge to ask him a question. I resisted for another 5 minutes and then gave in.

"OK", I say. "Is it a boy or a girl?"

He raises his eyes and looks at me over the top of his glasses and says..............................

"Wow!"

"THAT'S original".

And we both burst out laughing.
