Looking at getting a 35% tint on my 2013 i30 Active .....
Any suggestions for maybe a mobie guy to come and do it at home, I live in Roselands.

Hi Keith, i knew a guy that was good & good price. but that was a long time ago.
my first i30 in 08 came from dealer with window tint, but for four years before that the v8 ute i was using did not have window tint. & i noticed how at night side vision was not as clear as un tinted . i never noticed the car being cooler eather, so when i got my second i30 i did not get windows tinted, don't miss it. as i drive at night too. but it looks better. i think its more for style & show.

Sorry but this is we're we disagree Lakes greatly,as the older members know we bought two I30's within months of eaxh other,the first we did not have tinted as at the time could not afford it,when we got Bruce(second I30)we were in the position to get him tinted,straight way,the difference between the two cars was incredible,with Hy poor air circulation and having to have the fan on most times,the amount of times we have to have the aircon in the first car compared to the second was stunning,I haven't yet had a problem with vision of a night time(yes some tints many years ago where a bit dodgy)tints these days are very good,mine are guaranteed for the life of the car,personally these days I wouldn't be without tint.

Rick was supposed to be a good quality tint i got. have you got temp comparisons when the car is parked in sun?
i think the biggest window in car is the front one & illegal to tint that why?

In WA it's illegal to tint the front windscreen but I'm with Rick actually, I'd never be without tint on a car I'm using regularly.

Even in Tassie I find the tint helps with glare and heat reduction.. Not had any issues with night vision

Not sure where you got your tint,but I actually got a written guarantee/warranty with ours,still have it in the glove box of both cars and this is Australia wide,so doesn't matter when or where it screwes up(if ever),the company did give me some temp comparisons but would have to find them,but just doing my own,there was  16 degree difference when parking both cars in my driveway side by side,that was just using a houshold temp gauge so not sure how accurate that would be,but it was extremely noticable hopping in both the  cars at the time,can't do these comparisons anymore as now we have both Bruce and Cyril with identical tint,I had the same company and fitters fit both vehicles.

Also Phil menyioned in earlier posts the use of the windscfeen visor reflectors this helps greatly(when parked)facing the smaller tinted rear window to take the brunt of the sun helps also,I have fitted Cyril with weather sheilds on the side windows this helps greatly too as I can leave the windows slightly cracked open when parked hence letting the hot air out(no I'm not referring to myself thankyou)even if you look super hard you can't tell the side windows are cracked open with the weather shields fitted.

Thanks for that Rick, my m8 here has a i30 identical to mine ( diesel FD white same wheels ) his came from dealer with window tint, might check if i notice a difference.
Dave having front window tinted don't seem safe to me.
