I pay CASH money for eveything .
All the cars/bikes i've owned CASH.
Next cash buy will be a house.
Already got a good deposit, but couldn't imagine having to make repayments for the next 30 years!
Thats why im up in WA trying my ar-se off to get a job in the mines, then save like crazy for the next 5-7 years.

I went to my dealers with the cash, but as they were offering interest-free loans for upto 3 years I decided why the hell should I lose interest on my cash? So I took it out over 24 months, interest free.

Nope - leased - but if it's still a good car after 3 years I will probably pay out the residual.

PS - Nizzkid - If you are having probs getting into the mines look for work with a subby/contractor first. It gets you in the door and good workers are quickly snapped-up by the mining co's. Plenty of mining jobs going in NSW right now.

Novated lease 2 years, like Donc I'll keep the car after the lease has run out if all is well, which i'm sure it will be!  The Pilbara is where its at for mining jobs - but good luck finding somewhere to live!  House my company was renting in Karratha was $1800/week - yes thats right a week, for a 4 bed corrugated iron house - and the waiting lists are huge.  Everything is so expensive in Karratha that our company recently moved its base to Perth and we fly to the rigs when needed.

PS Nizzkid... I'll bet you won't feel that way when you actually score a job in the mines... when you do,  have chat with one of the accountants :-)

When I get mine I'll own $500 of it.. still trying to find a good loan.
I will probably pay some of it off when/if the house sells.

Bank loan

Already paid a little over 10% deposit.

But still waiting for car...............

The loan is for 5 years but I plan to pay it off in half the time, took 5 as a precaution in case I have money trouble's etc etc.

No early repayment fees or anything, awesome

5 years 0% finance with no deposit. It's a long time to pay for a car but at least it's under warranty for that period. Plus a clause says I can give the car back after 2 years so not too worried about owing more than the car's worth.

We paid 33% deposit from savings and got a loan over 5 years for the other 67%. We pay about $430 a month IIRC.

Ummmm yeah.  I kinda "borrowed" the money from our savings, now I have to pay it back in  :-[  The way I look at it, at least the taxman isn't getting his hands on half the interest on that money that I "borrowed"
