I was just adjusting headlights, and accidentally found some interesting damage inside the engine bay. The outer sleeve of that wire going into the sensor is cut in half, and that soft cover around that hose is torn too. There's also some bites chopped off from that soft foam in the engine cover, from the same corner which is next to those other damages. It may have been a rat when my car has been parked somewhere, or some bird when the engine hood has been opened even for few minutes.

I had a picture from the engine bay taken in October, and those things were intact by then, so can't do any warranty claim about it. The wire itself is still intact and so is the hose, so it doesn't affect driving. It would be a good thing to fix at least that wire sleeve, but it can't be replaced without cutting the wire, and any basic insulation tape doesn't last very long.

Guarantee it is Rats,doesn't matter where you live the little Bastards are everywhere,had the same sort of damage under my bonnet some time ago,a few well placed cable tied hard Talon baits fixed that problem.

Stick a cat in the engine bay.  Problem solved.

I have one of those sonic pest repellers in my Garage (seems to keep the vermin at bay)

No mouse droppings around since I put it there.

Kids can hear the high pitched squeal it makes but adults usually can't.

I bought a sonic repeller, has a nice flashing led and an ultrasonic transducer, but I suspect there was nothing else inside the box. I didn't open it so I couldn't tell if I got ripped off.

Kids who come to our house (garage entry) often comment on the noise ours makes.. Next time someone with kids drops in, ask the kids if they can hear anything...

I got one of them years ago useless piece of crap. bit like the snake scarers I bought,went out to the pond the other day only to be chased by a five foot Dugite,bastard was real upset,I disturbed him having a drink outta the pond,surprising how fast you can run backwards in those situations.

Mind you,since I have installed them I haven't seen one mouse or rat anywhere,on the boxes it did say they were affective on small vermin and Moles,haven't seen any moles in my house either

Probably Phil  lot of young frogs in the ponds at the moment too that could also be an attraction for the snakes as well.
