Hi, after a couple of days of lurking and going through the forum top to bottom, I thought that it was about time that I came and introduced myself. My name is Dan and I live in the far north of England, a quick glance at the map and I think that I am the most northerly member in England? Well anyway I've just bought a 2008 1.6 CRDi CW in grey, it's done 72000 miles and seems to be in good order. I can't wait to pick it up, the dealer is giving it a new MOT and full service....but they are taking too long!
I think this is the first time I've posted in a forum so please excuse me for any mistakes while I get into the swing of things, I've been members of forums for previous vehicles that I've owned but none have seemed quite as friendly as this one, so I thought that I would make an effort and get involved. I really look forward to getting help and advice from you lot!

Thanks for the welcomes! I pick up the as yet unnamed car in a few hours and I'm going to treat her to a tank of premium diesel and a nice long drive and see how we get on!

If possible, brim the tank and reset your trip meter & enjoy.  :goodjob2:

Wow, well what can I say? How on earth has this car been kept a secret from me for so long? I've picked it up and driven about 150 miles in it on all sorts of roads and I am completely amazed. It's so quiet, I had to stop at one point and lift the bonnet to make sure they had given me the diesel version! It's also a very nice place to be, really comfy, to be honest I could have driven much further but my wife and daughter were starting to get annoyed with me and really wanted to go home. I love driving the car so much I'm actually looking forward to driving half way down country next week to see the mother-in-law...that's a first time I've ever looked forward to that!

That is brilliant Dan, even though I now drive a Hybrid as my main car, I still get a real kick out of positive feedback on the i30 (especially the diesel)

We had a diesel series one for 2.5 years back a while...

The Diesel is a great motor, not surprised by your reaction. The same thing happened to me, too.  :goodjob2:

I know exactly what you mean! I love driving to work now as much as I do commuting on my bike.
