Viewers are warned the video contains distressing footage but the film does not show any graphic images.

He was travelling at 97mph when a car crossed into his path.

The keen motorcyclist, an Anglian Water worker who lived in Sprowston near Norwich, had a head-cam fitted to his helmet, capturing horrifying footage of his last moments.

Now his family and Norfolk Police have taken the unusual step of releasing the footage as part of a hard-hitting film.

Full marks to the family for releasing the video. I've made some bad life choices, too. Still here though. :'(

Having had a head on with a car while on a bike, that was pretty hard to watch, don't even know why I did,I was luckier than this fellow.

Having watched that, the only message I got from it was, motorcyclist need to learn to slow down, that did not look like a 97 mph road to me,he would have been travelling at over a mile and a half a minute, car driver probably did see him but didn't realize he was covering ground that fast

50years ago I had the exact same happen to me, I was not speeding the car driver a papershop vendor was busy sorting his paper round out on the passenger seat.

Fractured pelvis, fractured femur and six weeks off work healing.

So this lad at ninety, wow

Speed KILLS  <sigh>

Watched this earlier today with the missus. We agreed that the car driver should not have been charged - the fault lying fully with the biker on that 60mph road.

You've only to see how he sets off on his journey, to get an idea of his intentions with regards road rules and safety.

Still a sad thing to happen, the car driver has to live with this for the rest of their lives, the young mans family have to live their lives without him, sadly having been a rider for many many years, the sense of invincibility when your on your machine ,the thrill of the speed, over comes your sensibilty

As I said before, a very bad choice. 38 mph speed limit yet his mind was made up, even before the bike started. With police and speed cameras you'd think that he would have reconsidered, instead of money, he paid with his life.  :disapp:

If only we could actually see the grim reaper when he's pointing his scythe at us, we might do things differently. Always remember, he's not far away.

It is going to be very hard on both the family of the biker, and the person that hit him.

It is hard to tell a biker to slow down they get in the zone of the moment.

it is almost the some thing that happened to daz's brother, only he was at an intersection and not speeding,
and the car was at fault he  did'nt give way. it brings it back home for us.

good on Mum for sharing, hope it does some good.
