Hyundai Genesis breaks ANCAP record

The new 2015 Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan has scored the highest ANCAP rating since testing began 21 years ago.

Announced this morning, the Korean company’s much-hyped flagship managed to score an almost-perfect 36.88 points out of 37 against ANCAP’s regimen, ousting the 36.78 achieved by the Mercedes-Benz B-Class in 2012. Naturally this equates to five stars.

Also good to see some competition to the usual euro luxury car market, that Genesis will certainly turn some heads.

They'll also have a lot of standard features that are options on Merc's and BMW's.

I also think they'll have much better luck breaking into the luxury market than Lexus did, Lexus were nice but still just overpriced Toyota's where the Genesis is all Hyundai...just a shame that the V8's wont be coming here but I don't think it'll make to much difference with the way fuel prices are going.

In an article I read they were saying 2016 may see the V8 but that was a magazine, there is no word from Hyundai.
The Tau engine has been awarded in the top 10 engines for the last few years so I'd love to drive one.
