Hatch; Locks with halo, unlocks when exiting the car or removing the key from the ignition (tested with 2nd person).

Thanks Marty,

Now I don't have to talk the wife into checking out the hatch one day.

Well i've done it ! Locked myself out of the car with the engine running !!!!

I have halo active and up till now have found it very good, but after pulling up at the post box, got out, shut door, posted letter, unable to get back into the car, the catch inside by the handel was in the open position but you could not open the car from the outside. after a few head scratching minutes I tried the boot bingo! not locked climbed through to oper rear doors then drivers one.

Not so sure of Halo now.

Hey sparki, thanks for the feedback.

One question... when you opened your door to get out did you use the unlock button first, or just let the handle unlock it?

There have been a few posts on the club regarding the lock re-engaging while the keys are still in the barrel.

Hi Shambles , I just opened the door. Proberly should have used the button but you just don't think. Going to re-test over the weekend on the drive so will have the spare key handy.

PS I was out of the car for less than 10 seconds.

I did it once in a busy street... I was only about 20 or 21 (over 30 years ago) and I was running late for work .. hopped out of my car and slam locked the drivers door (engine still running)

Don't know why I did it but can still remember the embarrassment  :-[ (From memory I used a bit of wire to break in) easier in those days....

Something isn't right there .. that should not happen. I'd get the dealer to check that out. When you open your door HALO should unlock all doors and deactivate, allowing access to the doors from either side. Well with my car it does this anyway..

Hi Nev, I think sparki left his engine running (ie, didn't remove the key) so HALO would still keep the other doors locked. It seems the system relocks an open door after a short while when it's like this. Must try it on Fergie sometime...

Hi Nev75 , the engine was running, as shambles says all doors unlock when key is removed or un-lock button is pressed, you can get out of either fornt doors from inside the car but the rear doors you can't (child lock not on) when auto lock is accitivated. Perhaps HALO is set to work differently in some countries.
