Hello there
Time I joined the community I think.
So I'm Russ, I live in a small village in the Waikato Province of the North Island of New Zealand.
I've lived on this planet for just on 31 years so far and what an adventure its been.
As the user tag might suggest, yes I'm a Gamer and yes I'm also Gay.
That doesn't stop me doing anything these 'str8' people can do either.
I've had a varied car history, from the boy racer looks of the early 2000's when everyone had a burgundy integra with rims and a big sound system, through the bizarre classics of a Wolseley, then to the mini cars like Nissan March and Suzuki Swift.
To my last whip being a Toyota Porte mini van then as of this morning the tiny people mover made way for my i30.
I've quite liked the i30 since I first drove one when they replaced a few of our Corollas at work with them. I only got to drive it once as it was another office's car, but was very enjoyable, this was when they first came out. Years Later I change jobs and our entire fleet is Hyundai, we have Santa Fe, Elantra, Accent and i30's.Out of all of them the i30 all be it the new shape is still my favourite.
Which leads me onto my one that I purchased. I had been looking around for months for something to replace the mini-van being a stag fag I didn't need a small van for just me, nothing in my price range really appealed to much.
So I took a drive to the next city and one particular dealer had 7 i30's sitting out the front. Red,Black or Blue.
Now in NZ, the supply is a little limited, the most common are silver and white, then the red, then the blue and then the black.
Yes they're imports, but still built by Hyundai. This guy had 2 black ones and 3 blue ones. So I pulled in and took one for a drive
Well I was over the moon. They were well priced. So we sat down and nutted out what I wanted.
Being a japanese import I wanted a stereo that could get our frequencies, He showed me the stereo he normally put in with GPS, DVD, BT etc, so that got put in, The standard wheels and hubcaps are alright, but why not have a spend up, so 17 inch mags were next on the list, and since i was getting a black one, why not have black tints as well.
With that list and the price sorted I drove home to wait while everything got done and my next day off come around
A week later (today) I drove up and picked up my car, which he could of sold a million times over, it had been sitting in his yard for the past 5 days with all the upgrades I had asked for and lots of people had tried to buy it.
Just checked the internet and theres only one black one left for sale in NZ used at the moment and thats down in the South Island and well over priced.
So yes, theres my ramble bout me and my story bout how I got the car
No doubt I'll be poking round and speaking with others in the future.
