i am desperately in love with the styling of the new land rover discovery.
yes i know it's just an updated and renamed freelander, but it looks so damn pretty...  :DoubleKiss:

maybe in another 3 years or so...  :headbang:

I like the old series 1 to 3 and the later defender and simple to work on

Isn't the topic about the Discovery... not the Defender, totally different car and purpose :whistler:

I had a 1960 80" Land Rover. Lovely car for what it was meant to do.

Land Rover got to "design" cars for the film Judge Dread and they went all Nice lines and swept this and that. Just turned into Chelsea Tractors. Way to much design for the average farmer or squaddie.

I'd almost be scared to get a new one dirty.

I'm not a 4WD person but I don't mind the current Sante Fe and that new Discovery is certainly a nice update of the old model.. (hint of the Evoke from a couple of angles)  :goodjob:

The disco sport is not to be confused with the disco 4. I think this was an intentional name ambiguity to give it more prestige. Sounds better than freelander 3.

And you are right Dazz, it is built on the same chassis as the evoque. thing is, I can't stand the evoque...  :disapp:

Highly strung srt model to boot.

Disco sport is more the q5 or x3 competitor.
Pricing should be sharp as to not step on the evoque's toes. But only car in class to seat 5+2

I like Land Rovers.
Being cheap to keep, I like Discovery 1, 2 & 3.
A few years old now but I just like them.   :)
