Hey all, first post here  :)

I've had my i30 (2009, 59 reg) for nearly two years now and it's served me well; I've done about 27000 miles in it in that time!

However, one real annoyance is that I noticed my wipers get most of the way across the windshield before any fluid hits them.  This obviously causes dirt to be smeared across the windscreen, resulting in a white film briefly appearing when I use the wipers.

Listening carefully, I can hear that the pump engages immediately.  I've had the pump replaced and it did nothing.  Why are the fluid lines not charging properly?  Can anyone shed some light on this?

Welcome to the club :D

My first thought was the non-return valve in the pump assembly, but as you've had that replaced we can rule that out.

The only other thing that springs to mind is a possible fracture in the line, allowing the line to drain back onto the floor after use. Have you checked for evidence of this? Those lines should stay charged (as you expect) so they must be draining somewhere, somehow.

How does the rear sprayline behave...?

When you spray do you get a lot of foam like stuff?

If so then may be you have too much concentrate so the make up in the bottle will need to be diluted with more water

Some people have posted that there is a filter in the washer system. Does anybody know, if this would have been changed with the new pump?

I would expect it to be built into the washer bottle outlet? But not certain.

The filter should be in the filler neck, but a clogged filter wouldn't exhibit the symptoms you've described.

Did you check what i suggested?

I checked what the rear windshield and the fluid is dispensed immediately.

I've also checked the lines on the front but cannot see any obvious leaks. Nothing is leaking from the bonnet, but I did move the car after a few sprays and there where two small wet patches on the ground. One was on the far left and one was centre right, both in line with the front of the windshield
