So, here we go. I haven't introduced my girl yet...

We met in January when it was delivered to the Hyundai dealer as a test car (previously, I chose one from the stock and it was delivered to the dealer as a test vehicle in order to get some more discount). Why do I call it a girl? Because it is... When she was registered by the dealer, she got a registration plate starting with CE - CA xxx. And Ceca is a nickname for a known Serbian pop folk singer.
Anyway, in the first three monts, she wasn't taken out of the shop frequently. She gathered 1400 km in total (from which I drove 1200  :whistler:). Then, in mid April she was mine! In three months, we have done about 13.000 km (odo showing 14.500 now) without any special problems. Sometimes she has some kinks with the cruise control (it does not want to be engaged) and her DPF's regeneration period, which stubburnly sits at about 700km (instead of 1000km as stated in the manual). Although the engine outputs only 90 HP, the torque is enormous around 2000-2500 rpm, where the revs normally stay during driving. It would be nice to have some more oumph during the acceleration... Unfortunatelly, she can not be chip-tuned due to the protetion built into the ECU and tuning-boxes are not advisable due to DPF. Maybe I'll have the courage to let one of the tuning garages to do a surgery on an open heart (ECU) in order to reprogram it...

Here's the picture of her in front of our garage:

She was delivered without the parking sensors (this option was just too costly), so I ordered a kit from eBay for ~$20. I had them fitted by the Hyundai dealer. Although, they weren't specially made for Hyundai, the color is quite a good match:

Sensors came with a display that is normally mounted somewhere on the dash. I just hate seeing these aftermarket displays just attached somewhere, so I got mine attached to a rear part of the roof (see the image below).

I had to make some modifications to the display unit itself in order to mount it upside down. I took out the PCB, trimmed it, relocated some components and put it all back together upside down. The external symbols are not even visible (here they were illuminated by the flash).

So, this is it.

Brilliant post and brilliant i30 :D

Thanks for posting the pics of "Ceca" and her little mods (they look superb :goodjob:)

Do you also get an audible sound from the reversing sensor circuit?

Yup, the display unit has a beeper built in. It also has a switch on the side that is used to turn the sound on or off. I prefer having it on.

The parking sensor installation you did looks like just factory built.  :goodjob:
I remembered I once read from the tuning box supplier, "their product can be used on the vehicles which is equipped with or without DPF..."

Thanks!

The tuning box CAN be used, but is not advisable...  :undecided:  Moreover, the DPF regeneration period looks fixed (it does not vary in regards to my driving style), which means that in case of greater production of soot particles, it would not be regenerated as it should be... Hyundai dealer installed one such box for test, but the engine failed to start the next day. I'm not really fond of using me (and my vehicle) as a test bunny. Anyway, compared to 1.4 (105 HP) gasoline engine that is most commonly sold in i30's here in Slovenia, driving the 90 HP CRDi is much more enjoyable.

Well, there are many Hyundai dealers around here and they all try to do their best to sell the cars. The dealer isn't as shinny as it looks here.

Love your grill & front bumper, too. Different from ours.
Is it the re-newed style in your country ? Or the look was just the original style when i30 first time came to the market few years ago ?

It is in fact a face-lifted model that came out in mid-2010. It is quite distinctive from the original that came few years ago.

Nice Blue CW , Ceca sorry  :P
Maybe  you will add some  pics  with the  interior

LE About DPF regeneration period : how  often  , how is  your  driving  style? Do you have on board indicator about  regen process ? Be careful if  you  remap  the  crdi  with  DPF , it  don't  like  this soot  increase   .

~700 km, not affected by driving style and no, no indicator anywhere...

If the DPF works as it should, it should regenerate more frequently on soot increase... We'll see
