Yes so WHY!!!! are they 'to get grace period'?

Drivers are expected to be given a grace period as new laws banning smoking in cars containing children come into force from tomorrow.

The landmark legislation, which is designed to protect children from the effects of tobacco smoke, will see the driver and any smoker fined £50 if they have someone under 18 in the car with them.

Police and local authorities have been told they are able to enforce the law immediately, but are thought to favour a period of educating drivers rather than enforcement action.

Will this go the same way as not holding a phone while driving????????

The welfare of the passive smoking children continues to come second to the indulgence of a vile addiction. Softc*cks! :spitty:

It doesn't stop them from doing it, Dazz.  Just today I saw a lady "light up" just prior to getting into her car with her two kids.

Dear Chief Constable, as a passive smoking child, I was diagnosed with emphysema and lung cancer at the conclusion of the grace period you granted my nicotine addicted parents. My lawyers will be in touch. :whistler:

SKY News, Eamonn Holmes 8am, Senior Police Spokesman stated they would not bother to enforce this Law, as they were understaffed and the Police consider it more of a Health Hazard - unlike using a Mobile phone whilst in charge of a vehicle  :crazy1:

Same problem here.
It's been flicked to Heath due to resourcing.
An extra workload and expectancy but no extra funding or staff.
Not much point bringing in a law if it can't be policed.
