Ever since I bought my 2010 Elantra Touring (i30cw?) with the 2.0L gas engine it has leaked oil.  It accumulates drips on the bottom of the oil filter and also oil runs along the oil pan to block seam, causing the whole oil pan to get covered in oil and dirt.  The guys at the dealership kept telling me I had been installing the filters wrong, that the filter gasket was leaking, that I need to REALLY crank that filter down to get it to stop leaking.  I bought an oil filter wrench and tightened the crap out of the last few filters and still it leaks and it is getting worse with time.  Today I was scrubbing down the affected area and inspecting for the source of the leak and I finally spotted it.  Much to my displeasure it is the oil pump gasket, it is leaking just up and behind the filter and running down from there.  Of course, now I'm out of warranty and the dealership will do nothing about it.

I've done timing belts and other major repairs on other cars, I'm mechanically competent but as a competent mechanic I need instructions to ensure that this job goes smoothly.  Since HMA service went to a pay model I no longer have access to their site.

Does anybody have a copy of the oil pump replacement procedure?

I know it's basically a full timing belt job plus oil pan removal plus some other bits, but I would feel much better with instructions and torque specs.  I've searched around but it seems I'm the first unlucky one to have this problem.  I'll be doing the timing belt while I'm in there.  I've only got 61,200km on the car but it's 5 years old and since all the parts have to come off anyway I might as well fit new ones while I'm in there to get some extra years out of it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have the instructions in the workshop manual, but somehow the virtual desktop does not allow me to print it to .xps or .pdf. It only prints it on paper... But yeah. Seems you need to remove the timing belt and so on... Seems to have fair amount of bits and pieces so I would not even try it without service instructions. Many of us have this workshop manual: :link: Hyundai i30 Workshop Manual

I have found a few service manuals online for money but most of the sites look super sketchy and I don't trust providing credit card details to them.
If anybody could help out with a pdf or even just a list of procedures and torque specs that would be super helpful.

Thanks!

Can you "print screen" or is there too many pages?

Phil did the job. Well done.  :goodjob2:

There would be too many print screen pics, especially when there are 2 instructions that "needs" to be compined. One document for the timing belt and one for the actual oil pump... Pdf would be only reasonable option in my opinion.

I've ordered couple of products from supplier that is in the link I previously provided. Never had any issues with paying the products. They even seem to accept paypal...

Thanks so much for that!  It does indeed look right for my year and engine and I might have missed something obvious but should I also be finding the timing belt instructions in that pdf?

If the site linked earlier accepts paypal that would be good - perhaps I should follow through with them.  I'm planning to keep the car a good long time and given how quickly everything is going wrong with it I should probably have a copy of the FSM.
