Police have released footage of the moment an officer was nearly hit by a skidding car on the M57, as part of their effort to persuade motorists to slow down in bad weather.

The Mercedes slid across the motorway and on to the hard shoulder, before hitting a parked car.

Seems the Mercedes driver was driving too fast for the conditions, saw the Police car, panicked, braked & aquaplaned across the lanes into the layby.....
